Ten Years Young was inspired by an award commemorating the author’s ten years in volunteer youth ministry. Dan Cooper (or Coop to his friends) has served in two different churches, under six different youth pastors. This blog was born out of a desire to pass on some of the lessons learned in those ten years, and to provide encouragement to those who have gotten involved in this crazy thing we call youth ministry; in January of 2015 the blog was ‘re-launched’ with an expanded base of topics. When he’s not blogging or ministering to the youth of FSM, Dan is a semi-professional chef, and cooks for his students and fellow youth ministers on occasion (including his semi-famous fajitas), as well as a part-time rideshare driver. He is also a part of the worship team at Victory International Fellowship in Brookfield, WI. He is an avid singer, a karaoke junkie, and a big kid at heart. He enjoys movies, music, good food, travel (especially road trips), reading and writing. Dan makes his home in Milwaukee, sharing a condo with his mom and two spoiled cats.
